A tribute to B. B. (Blues Boy) King
Guitarist, Songwriter, Singer (1925–2015)
“King of the Blues”
Sweet little angel
your devil horns are showing through.
Sweet little angel
your devil horns are showing through.
I love you sweet baby,
all I ever want is you.
Sweet little angel
tell me your love is just for me
Sweet little angel
tell me your love is just for me
you know I need your lovin’
without it where’d I be?
Sweet little angel
spread your honeyed wings for me.
Sweet little angel
spread your honeyed wings for me.
You hold me tight baby
you’re the one to set me free
Sweet little angel
your devil horns are showing through.
Sweet little angel
your devil horns are showing through.
I love you sweet baby
don’t you ever leave me blue.

Years ago, I drove a 1971 FJ 40 Toytoa Landcruiser as my work vehicle, into remote wilderness areas. …and her name was Lucille. Because where she could safely take me was as close to the music of BB as I could ever dared to get.
Well done.

Well done! A follower of mine commented on “The Thrill Is Gone,” https://rite2run.wordpress.com/2015/05/15/the-thrill-is-gone/ and I sent him to your tribute to BB.

I know the street well, but I’m sure all the bar names have changed.

le Jazzons is still there on de Maisonneuve, Biddles has changed to another name House of Jazz or whatever but still the same, and Bistro à JOJO is still a landmark here.

I remember Club Soda and Les Trois Canards, although I don’t think they were on St. Denis.
