naked, i walk
into the darkness,
into the wilderness.
i have no mask,
no armor.
Love and Compassion,
my only defenses.
i walk without fear,
without pride.
i am the lowest
of the low.
i am the result
of my choices.
i have no regrets.
the past is but a memory;
the future, a dream —
all illusions —
they do not matter.
it is now, i find
my truth
ever-changing.

Awesome poem, despite the fact that it is very short (i guess sometimes less IS more?) it left me very emotional, the image also works very well…
i used to write poems a long time ago, not as good as this though. Well penned…

It is a pity that half of my texts are written in French (I hope in a much better way than in English). The story “Une rando très spéciale” talks about Hindu philosophy the way I experiment it here in India. Let’s hope your words can spread like the ones on prayer flags…

This is a beautiful poem, and although its about shedding ego voluntarily, it speaks to me of trauma also. That too strips away the ego pretty fast, leaving an armour less soul exposed to the world 🙂

l1, “naked i walk”, sets this poem perfectly. Your use of “i” for “I” is not gimmicky in this poem. I like that. I am not generally a fan of center-justified poems but in this case it almost takes on a shape poem appearance. I see a man, a woman, vases, and even ceramic gongs. Well done. Dave
