Rode into town about a week ago,
Won't be long before I've got to go.
Thoughts of staying playing in my mind;
But, Gypsy Lady I'm the restless kind.
Gypsy Woman ride along with me.
The open road ahead won’t let me be.
The engine’s serenade will set us free.
Gypsy Woman hear the symphony.
I feel your body pressing close to me;
We’re riding fast, we’re feeling wild and free.
Gypsy wind is blowing through our hair.
When I’m with you my life’s without a care.
Gypsy leathers never looked so fine.
I think about you Lady all the time.
Don’t want to beg, don’t want to lose my pride.
You haunt my dreams, I need you by my side.
Gypsy Lady let me hold you tight.
Don’t leave me cold and lonely through the night.
Your flashing eyes see inside my heart.
Gypsy Woman say we’ll never part.
Gypsy Lady ride along with me.
The open road ahead won’t let me be.
The engine’s serenade will set us free.
Gypsy Woman hear the symphony.

Hi Tonia, motorcycles are scary. I was broadsided and my right leg was broken in seven places. In hospital they refer to them as “donorcycles” as in organ donor. I’m glad you enjoyed this poem. It’s one of my favorites. ~ Dennis

Maryrose,
I have them memorized if that’s any help. I’m glad to meet another Bob Seger fan. He’s the greatest. I’ll tell you later about my experience seeing him live.
Cheers,

I got caught up in Bob Seger which led to Eric Clapton, then the Eagles…then
back to Bob S……
and I remembered all the words too LOLs..

I’m sorry you lost sleep. You mentioned two of my other favorite groups, The Eagles, “Hotel California” and Eric Clapton’s, “Songs for Robert J.” and “Riding With The King”.
I saw Bob Seger live about about thirty years ago. It was at Lansdowne Park, an outdoor football stadium, in Ottawa, Canada. At either side of the stage was a bank of speakers about thirty feet high.
Most of the band members were dressed in jeans and tee shirts. Bob also wore a black leather vest. Alto Reed was wearing lavender spandex, top to bottom.
The concrete bleachers were filled to capacity. By half time everyone was on their feet, clapping and stomping to the music. The bleachers were swaying to the point that I was afraid for my life.
The last song played was “Mainstreet” (one of my favorites). I was waiting for Alto Reed’s saxophone solo near the end of the song, but he was nowhere to be seen. A spotlight shone, seemingly straight in the air. On top of the thirty foot bank of speakers was an angel in lavender. The crowd went wild. This was the best concert I’ve seen in my life.
Cheers,
Dennis

Hi maryrose and Angela,
The song that was going around in my head, as I wrote this, was Bob Seger singing “You’ll Accompany Me”
I saw him sing this live and it blew me away.
Cheers,
