with ardor
I take wing
on tongues of night
drawn to your essence
as thirst
to a mountain stream.
intense devotion
and burning heat —
I dream of us
tonight
your lips
beckon me
with liquid smile
and promises
of more.
your sweet breath
interlaced with mine —
I hunger
for your taste.

Thanks, as always, Melanie. The words to your post “saules pleureurs – weeping willows…” speak to my soul and express my sentiments exactly:
“the soft breeze of the last day of October carries away our dreams engraved into our hearts that fly onto the wings of desire…”
Much love ~ Dennis

Indeed, the ardor of a love, that is waiting for its mate, is truly captured in these lines. Also, I had a thought on this one – on tongues of night – at once erotic but at another level, the biblical, ‘speaking in tongues’ too. Just a thought 🙂

Hi Samasti, my first thought was visual, thinking of the sky at sundown where there are often wisps of purple clouds, or the silhouettes of birds in flight, can look like tongues. I like the biblical idea of ‘speaking in tongues’. Everyone brings a personal meaning, depending on their circumstances, landscapes or beliefs. ~ Dennis

I do not think you need to worry about my remaining speechless for too long. It’s only beauty that makes me speechless. Thanks for the compliment. I do hope we both end up making it there sometime in the near future.
